R/Me feedback
Alright, I'm slowly growing even more and more confused with skills and attributes - unlike in the past, when it didn't seem as crucial.
R/Me
Marksmanship and Domination as primary attribs (illusion magic as a secondary).
Here's my current attributes:
Illusion: 5
Domination: 6
Wilderness Survival: 4
Marksmanship: 8
---
I recently decided to stop working on beast mastery, since I'm focusing more on traps and mesmer stuff now. Any reccomendations regarding my build? Perhaps raise domination a bit?
Primary Skill Build:
Power Shot
Troll Unguent (Sometimes used interchangeably with healing spring)
Power Spike
Barbed Trap
Energy Burn
Conjure Phantasm
Empathy
Signet Of Capture (Waiting on another boss to see what I can get off of it)
---
Phantasm has slowly been outliving its usefulness, IMO - ever since the shiverpeaks.

Yes, don't spread yourself so thin. First line I'd drop would be illusion since you only have 1 skill using it.
You have no Expertise so all of your skills are at full cost, so put points into it to reduce your attacks, etc. Mesmer spells will still cost full amount, are you finding you have enough energy for them?
Replacing a mesmer interrupt with a ranger interrupt will provide one for less energy.
Hmmm, pretty much I'd say focus on Expertise, Marksmanship and Wilderness Survival until later in the game when you have more attribute points. Then if you really want add in something from the mesmer lines.
Are you using runes to increase your ranger attributes?

Take out Phantasm. Thats just for a hex cover - Its uses for damage stop right after Ascalon area. a few seconds of 5 degen on bigger health isn't worth the 10 energy.
Then you can take all Illusion magic out.
Take out the Mesmer Interupt and replace with a ranger one for energy management. Distracting Shot is the popular choice.
Replace Signet of Capture until you are in a mission you KNOW has a skill you need. xennon.co.uk/eliteskills helps. If You absolutely need a mesmer spell to be happy then replace those pts you took from illusion and put them in inspiration and use Mantra of Resolve when you get it, before that try about Expertise attribute.
Power shot isn't the best choice in attack skills. Penetrating is alright, but if your going to be right up on them anyway for traps, I'd use Point Blank Shot and invest more in Expertise (maybe with a big rune).

Rest of suggestions are assuming you will be having full attributes and skills
--
You'll really want some Expertise. This is the ranger's excuse for having all the skills that cost some energy, and only 32 energy (druids armor).
You'll probably want to ween out the slow mesmer attack spells that eat your energy (and attribute pts), and replace with the other traps since you've conveyed an interest in them. This is really true if you tryed that Mantra of Resolve thing I talked about eariler. Just make sure you don't get swamped with aggro while Resolve is up - or your energy will hurt.

I don't use runes. As for energy, yes, I have enough energy for my abilities. With armor, etc on, I have it in the 30s. Most of my abilities range from 5-10 energy, two skills being 15 energy. I have no trouble with low energy so far.

Minor runes are cheap and also found regularly from drops so get at least minors for each ranger attribute plus minor vigor. Use the head gear +1 for an attribute you are investing in to increase it further. Eventually plan on using one superior and the rest minors.
